Rosatom presents a roadmap for the development of quantum computing at the Global Technology Leadership Forum

Rosatom presents a roadmap for the development of quantum computing at the Global Technology Leadership Forum

The State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom became a partner of the Global Technology Leadership Forum, which will be held in Sochi on December 5–7, 2019. The agenda of the Forum is focused on the development of end-to-end technologies — advanced areas that will determine the face of the global economy and the leadership potential of states in the new decade.
In 2019, Rosatom became the organizer of the work on creating 7 roadmaps as part of the development of the digital economy of Russia using key «end-to-end» technologies, including neurotechnologies and artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality technologies, quantum technologies, new manufacturing technologies, robotics components and sensorics, distributed registry systems, wireless technology.
At the Forum, Rosatom will hold a presentation of the roadmap for the development of quantum computing, developed as part of an agreement signed with the Government of the Russian Federation in July 2019. The Forum will also include stress tests of the materials of this roadmap with the participation of representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Office of the Government of the Russian Federation, relevant government authorities and leading experts. The card is based on the development of four main areas of development of a quantum computer, the creation of a public access infrastructure for comprehensive support of Russian centers of competence in quantum computing, and interaction with educational institutions. Ultimately, this should lead to the creation of an ecosystem that will allow Russia to take its rightful place in the global market for quantum computing.
— The development of innovative technologies and participation in shaping the technological policy of Russia for the next decade is one of the main priorities of Rosatom. The task of organizing the process of creating roadmaps for key «end-to-end» technologies, for which Rosatom was responsible in the framework of the National Program, was a real challenge. Huge work was done — hundreds of experts participated, representatives of government agencies, large companies, small and medium-sized businesses, startups, development institutions. The result is the adoption of agreed roadmaps of the National Digital Economy of the Russian Federation Program, which substantially formed the basis of the agreements between the Government and State Corporations, the signing of which is scheduled for the coming weeks, «said Alexei Likhachev, Director General of Rosatom State Corporation.
